If elected, how will you take leadership to ensure that everyone in your community can live in a safe, healthy, affordable home?

Having personally experienced housing displacement after an algorithmic rent hike, I understand that safe and affordable housing is fundamental to community stability and individual dignity.

My leadership approach centers on innovative public solutions that keep housing permanently affordable. I'm proposing a community-owned housing model where the city develops homes and sells them to residents with deed restrictions requiring resale back to the city at purchase price plus inflation. This prevents speculation and gentrification while building wealth for working families.

I'll champion zoning that requires truly affordable units in new developments, not just market-rate apartments that accelerate displacement. We need housing policies that strengthen existing communities rather than forcing them out.

Beyond new construction, I'll advocate for tenant protections, including rent stabilization measures and enhanced code enforcement to ensure all rental housing meets health and safety standards. No family should have to choose between paying rent and living in unsafe conditions.

My municipal utilities proposal directly supports housing affordability—when the city controls electricity and internet services, we can keep utility costs low, making housing more affordable for working families. High utility bills are often the hidden factor that pushes families out of their homes.

I'll also push for increased funding for first-time homebuyer programs and down payment assistance specifically targeted to working families

Housing is a human right, not a commodity, nor should it be an investment vehicle. My proposed policies ensure everyone can afford to stay in our community as it grows and prospers and houses stay as homes.
